Just wanted to let you know I’ve enjoyed popping in every now and again to see how your year has gone. You are a very good writer and I have laughed along (and shed a tear or two) with all your adventures. Hope to hear what has inspired you to return to SA. My money would have been on you happy and settled there forever. It has been a year long adventure with many fantastic experiences that noone can take away from you and yours, so if the journey ends back home again, you can do it with confidence knowing that you have survived!

It is so scary how the time flies, I find myself stopping occassionally and thinking where the time has gone – well done on keeping your diary for so long I am sure you will look back on it in years to come with smile on your face at the fond memories.

The problem with England in general is that they expect their boys to do impossible things with a football. Scoring a goal is not common sense if you are English. Letting the country down is the name of the game. They have been doing it quite well since 1967. Of course every football match has to have some pundit mention the 1966 world cup team and truth be told, that was the only time England actually knew how to play the game. The team they have now is useless. The coach is not useless so it doesn’t make sense why they are playing this way. Shame on those boys in Mitchells class.

Hi Kerry I couldn’t agree with you more about feeling displaced over this time – South Africa have really come together over the world cup and it is a beautiful and uplifting thing to see.

P.S. So glad the Bon Jovi concert was everything you hoped it would be, I saw them live in Durban years ago and only wish I had a babysitter close by so that we could have gone again.
